Meet our team

Mandy is our principal teacher at the Island Dance Academy, she trained at Bird College, Sidcup and holds a Life Membership with the British Association of Teachers of Dance and is also an Associate Member of the International Dance Teachers Association. She has danced professionally on cruise ships and many other shows around the world, and has run the Island Dance Academy for over 20 years.

Sue is a valued teacher at the school; working with us for many years, entering exams and choreographing multiple dances in each of our production shows. Sue specialises in, and teaches most of the schools Tap and Jazz classes. Like Mandy, she has also travelled with her professional dance career, working abroad and on cruise ships around the world.

At Island Dance Academy we have a team of four fully qualified and experienced teachers. All staff are DBS checked and Island Dance Academy currently follows the BATD child protection policy.

Our staff pride themselves on their friendly and professional approach to teaching and welcome all new students with open arms. We also have two Head Girls who help with the younger classes on a Saturday and are also available to help resolve any parent or student queries.

Lauren completed her Theatre Arts degree at Brighton University. Since graduating, Lauren has worked as a performing Arts Coach, Choreographer and Dance Teacher for the past 10 years
